BIOGRAPHY

Alex is a capeverdean drummer and sound designer born in Portugal on April 26th, 2000. He started playing drums in 2010 and since then he has developed a taste for Rock and Metal music, but he also plays other music genres. In 2013 he started producing on Logic Pro.

His interest in drums started when he watched a Phil Collins DVD, performing a solo as the opener to his own show. In 2010 he started taking classes and in 2011 was his first show, all thanks to Espaço Gota D'Arte in Cape Verde.

He learned how to play at Espaço Gota D'Arte and the people there were the main influence in his development. Besides the classes they also organized gigs which helped Alex get a taste of the stage and he ended up loving it.

In 2013 he "discovered" Logic Pro and started "playing around" with it. Since then he's been producing music, having started with covers or remakes, but eventually moved on to some original productions which never became public. When producing he uses the stage name Cyb0rg.

He started playing with bands in 2014, being the most recent, public, ones the bands Marino and Erick and The Double Jack. Besides those two, he was part of the band Dinamikuz and was a founding member of New Generation, along with Phil Araújo and Keven Lobo, both also being members of the former.

In 2018 he moved to Portugal to study Sound Design at ETIC (Escola de Tecnologias Inovação e Criação) so he could understand "the other side of music" and contribute to the development of the area in Cape Verde. Initially more focused on mixing, mastering and live sound, he developed a taste for post-production and the way that image and sound come together.

In 2019 he joined the project Chronos Caravan, a metal band that hasn't become public yet.

In 2020 he moved to Coventry, United Kingdom to complete his studies.
